Lampwork is the terms used to describe the method of making these type of beads.  It involves using blow lamps to heat up rods of glass which are then used by very skilled artisans to create these wonderful designs. Sometimes called Murano or Venetian as the techniques were perfected on the island of Murano in Venice. Foil-lined beads have a layer of silver or platinum foil embeded in the glass to create the luster.

These beads are handmade and there for there will be some slight variation from bead to bead.
