Lampwork is the terms used to describe the method of making these type of beads.  It involves using blow lamps to heat up rods of glass which are then used by very skilled artisans to create these wonderful designs.   Sometimes called Murano or Venetian as the techniques were perfected on the island of Murano in Venice.
